Assigning Resources to projects in project server 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have created a project server website for our company and created all of our projects and resources, we also divided them as departments so that every department handles its own projects and resources.

My question is, is there a way for every department to have its resources separated so that when assigning resources there team only appears rather than all the resources on the company which are by far about 600 employees all appears as resources, and for every project they must go to the build team and set its own resources.

    Thanks

  • There ar two ways to achieve it.

    1. Create team names in the look up and assign that look up to team enterprise default custom field. Then assign correct team to respective resource.

Once you will do this then while building team for project project owner need to give the team name as filter then all the resource which belongs to the team will come and project owner select and add them to the project and assign task then publish the project.

    2. Assign RBS and department (Specify value in the rbs then assign rbs to resource department and if possible make rbs nad department value same )to every resource and users  then from category you can set permission.so that as a project owner i can only view resource of my department and as per my RBS.
