  • Question

  • Our first Exchange 2016 server was installed prior to Exchange 2010 rollup 11 being installed.

What negative ramifications will this potentially cause ?

  • Hi Robert,

Base on my knowledge, there is no any negative ramifications coexist with exchange 2010.

However, you need to ensure that all of the Exchange 2010 servers at the same patch level.

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

Installing Exchange 2016 in an organization where you have Exchange 2010 servers without rollup update 11 is not supported so please upgrade all Exchange 2010 servers to rollup update 11. See here for coexistence requirements: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719%28v=exchg.160%29.aspx.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Robert,

The simple advice here Is to check the Installation log on the Exchange 2016 servers located at.

    C:\ExchangeSetupLogs

go over the logs and check If any error reported.

    Cheers,

  • The 2010 servers have been updated to rollup update 11 now.. but were at rollup 6 at the time that Exchange 2016 was installed..

My question was more about anything that might have failed during the install of Exchange 2016 because the 2010 environment was at rollup 6  - Are there any settings that may not have applied correctly that I now need to manually set?
