problem with sccm 2012 client action tab RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I had this problem with SCCM Client 2012 when I deployed an OS : (There were just two items in "Actions" tab ->1:{Machine Policy Retriveval & Evaluation Cycle} 2:{User Policy ...})

But someone advised me I should Approve the Client from SCCM server and it really helped me to solve the problem and all normal items appear in Actions tab.

But after some days this problem comes again on the PC that I approved it before and now I have just two items and obviously I cannot it approve again and it is not reasonable either. But when I select these two items and click on "Run Now" after some minutes everything looks fine and all the items comes but after some days they disappeared again ! And I have this problem on another PC also but on this PC I cannot see anything on "Actions" tab !

I would thankful if someone could help me.

  • Any errors in the site system status in general?
Any errors in ClientIDManagerStartup.log on the client?

  • Hi Torsten,

Thanks for hint. There was just one error on "System Status\Component Status" that shows there is no inbound firewall rule for ports 1433,4022 ! It was very strange because I had this rule before and I don't have any idea what happened ! Anyway I added this rule again and now there is no error at all  but my problem still remaining !

A - PC1 : Client activity in SCCM Console is Active but I have just two items in SCCM Client "Action" tab

B- PC2 : Client activity in SCCM Console is Inactive and there is nothing in all tabs in SCCM Client

Do you have any other idea ?

  • Sure and it's already listed above. What about the logfile on the client?
The firewall ports you mentioned are not used for client communications BTW.

  • There is no error on them but some fail lines :

    <![LOG[Failed to open to WMI namespace '\\.\root\ccmvdi' (8007045b)]LOG]!><time="15:30:34.636-60" date="01-07-2013" component="ClientIDManagerStartup" context="" type="3" thread="4152" file="wminamespace.cpp:231">

    <![LOG[PopulateRegistrationHint failed (0x80041010), expected upon first start of non-upgrade client.]LOG]!><time="00:21:56.886-60" date="01-07-2013" component="ClientIDManagerStartup" context="" type="2" thread="1884" file="ccmid.cpp:2023">

    <![LOG[GetRegistrationState failed (0x80041010)]LOG]!><time="09:11:27.342-60" date="01-08-2013" component="ClientIDManagerStartup" context="" type="3" thread="5232" file="ccmid.cpp:1683">

As you know the log files are too long but if you need I can attach them or just tell me which lines can be useful.

  • Hi Bob,

I had a simliar problem and what I ended up doing is deleting the secondary MP's under System Management and after SCCM recreated them the clients then received their policies and all of the client acctions were visable.

  • Hi Jim101a,

You mean I should delete all 4 below empty items under AD\System\System Management ?

Is it OK if I delete them manually ?!

  • It does not hurt too much. ConfigMgr will re-create those entries once per hour.

  • Unfortunately it doesn't help ! System Management objects in AD were created but SCCM Client issue is still remaining !!!
