Windows Update Failure RRS feed

  • Hi, Every time I try to install the current windows update for my Windows 7 it fails. Can you help?

  • Hi,

    Is there any error message?

    Here are some ways may help you solve the problem.

    1. Please refer the following link and run the Windows Update troubleshooter.
        Fix Windows Update issues:

    2. Please try to download and manually install the update.
        https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx 
    3. Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) by taking following these steps:
        3.1 Open an administrative Command Prompt window.
        3.2 Type following command and then press Enter.
               sfc /scannow
        3.3  After the scan is finished, try to install updates again.
    4. Download and run the appropriate version of the System Update Readiness Tool.
        Fix Windows Update errors by using the DISM or System Update Readiness tool:

    5. Reset the Windows Update Components, please refer the following link.

    If all methods can't work, please help us collect the cbs.log (%SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log) , windowsupdate.log (%windir%\windowsupdate.log) , CheckSUR.log (%SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log), post them onto OneDrive and share the link here, which can help us do more research.
