WINDOWS 7-64 BIT FILE PAGING PROBLEM RRS feed

  • Question

  • I somehow have messed with the file paging system. I have 1-T of Space and it is almost full due to some change I made. How do I fix it back to default or tell it the page size? How do I get rid of the large page file system it has created???

    PLEASE PLEASE HELP

Answers

  • Go to Start-- Run and type in "sysdm.cpl" without quotes.  From here go to the Advanced Tab --> Performance Settings -->  on the new window click on Advanced and then finally under Virtual Memory click on Change...

From here you can see the Currently Allocated Page File as well as remove completely or modify the page file size as you see fit.  Your best bet would be to select the option "System Managed Size" that way Windows controls how large or small it is.

Be kind and Mark as Answer if I helped.
