maintenance mode RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello -

Is there a way to put a computer in Maintenance mode without giving someone access to the console?  I have users rebooting servers they are responsible for wihtout putting them in Maintenance mode - causing alerts.  I would like to have them put them in Maintenance Mode, but without giving them access to the console.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks,

  • You can do it with power shell too. Some customers have build a internet webpage where system administrators can put theire systems into maintenance mode.

  • do you have any examples of this Powershell Script or how it has been done?

I would prefer that someone be able to login to a server, run a script that puts the server into maintenance mode for 30 min.

    Thanks,
