External and Internal networks in UAg are on same subnet: Though it's possible is this a supported scenario? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Guys,

    Greetings..

I need to put UAG's External and Internal networks on same Subnet. Is it a supported scenario? I know that single NIC is a unsupported scenario but two NICs in same subnet falls into the same category?

    Thanks for your quick reply.

  • Hello Mylo,

    Thanks for the reply.

But I have a stringent requirement that I must use same same subnet for two NICs. One NIC will serve as a internal and another will serve as a External for UAG. So is it a supported scenario as per Microsoft?

  • Hi Ashu,

In short, no..... you're better off creating a transit DMZ just for the UAG external interface.

  • Hi Ashu, I'm assuming you want to use the UAG as an internal and external portal?

Internal traffic going into the UAG portal front end isn't supported, although it would work.
