  • How to export/move a sharepoint 2007 site as a STP file or to another server/computer? Best is to include list items as well.

  • In addition to what Hemendra has advised, SharePoint site stp files were based on definitions.  You'll need to have the same definition installed on your target farm, if you want the stp to be usable.

  • Hello,

    You can login to your site and follow the below step to create site template (stp file).

    Go to site action-->site settings-->click on "save site as template"-->check "include contents" checkbox-->and save it. Now open the site template library and download your template in your PC.

    Restore it on another server:

    Login to your site-->site action-->site settings-->click on "site template"--->now upload your template in this library.

    Now you can create new site using this template.

    Note: By default you can include 500 MB contents with site template so if your site is big and want to increase size then follow below link:
