  • Add X500 Address for that Recipient

     Open Exchange Management Console
    & Navigating to Recipient configuration

    1. Find the affected Mailbox under ‘Mailbox’
      in ‘Recipient Configuration’
    2. Go to the Properties of the affected mailbox & to the  Email Addresses tab
    3. Add new Custom Address with E-Mail
      Type as X500
    4. Add the legacyExchangeDN of the
      mailbox in the E-mail addresses.
    5. Format of legacyExchangeDN :: O=Exchange
      Org Name
      /OU=Administrative Group Name/CN=Recipients/CN=alias

In your Case X500 address would be

    /O=UAAN/OU=EXCHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=BounceT@uaan.com

  • Hello and I have the same issue on a new server. It appears I do not have the option for creating a x.500 email address (I only have the option to create another SMTP address).

But this is occurring on a new Exchange 2010 sp2 server. I can send from inside the organization to anyone in the organization also I can send to anyone outside the organization but when I try to send from outside to anyone in the organization it fails with the 550 5.1.1 error.

    It's driving me crazy..any suggestions.

    Thanks SAS

That's not so. Click the little triangle to the right of the "Add"
    button and select "Custom addresses..."

    >But this is occurring on a new Exchange 2010 sp2 server.

The problem isn't the server it's the clients. Either they have cached
addesses or they have mail in their mailboxes (or PSTs) that came from
some other Exchange organization, or they have stuff from the other
Exchange organization in their Contacts folders.

    >I can send from inside the organization to anyone in the organization also I can send to anyone outside the organization but when I try to send from outside to anyone in the organization it fails with the 550 5.1.1 error.

The fact that the error is ExRecipNotFound says that the problem is
with the legacyExchangeDN name. It doesn't exist in your Exchange
organization. You may be sending mail to some old address using the
    Exchange-encoded address.

You can verify the recipient address when you send "from outside"
(presumably using SMTP) by checking the SMTP receive logs.
