  • There are some damaged  manifest file

[SR] Cannot verify component files for vhdmp.inf, Version = 6.2.9200.16384, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type = [l:24{12}]"driverUpdate", TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral, manifest is damaged (TRUE)

    Run the new DISM command

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

to fix it. This downloads the damaged files from the Internet.

  • You can sue the Source flag and point to the Install.wim on your DVD.

  • I ran this:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:j:\sources\install.wim

But I got the same error as before, that the download didn't work. I dont know how to use the /Source flag properly

  • Also use the /LimitAccess flag to prevent downloading files.

  • I got a different error this time

    I ran

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:j:\sources\install.wim /LimitAccess

The error I'm getting is the source files cant be found. 0x800f081f

The path to the file is correct. The image Im using is a windows 8 x64 pro image I found online, because my dvd that I have that I made with the windows 8 upgrade advisor has install.esd on it, which according to online, is an encrypted version of install.wim that doesnt work with DISM, so I had to find a different copy that had the .wim on it

Ive tried 4 copies that I found online
Its like the cd doesnt have the files I need

  • I think you must provide an Index, because a WIM can contain multiple Images.

  • So like adding [0] or [1] after the .wim?

I just ran sfc /scannow again and I got 3 problem files

  • like this:

    Source:d:\sources\install.wim:1

You can also mount the WIM into C:\Mount and point to this location.

  • I tried both

    • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:j:\sources\install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

I tried :0, :1, and :2, and I got the source files could not be found. 0x800f081f

    I next tried

    • imagex /mount install.wim 1 c:\mount   (the mount was successful, c:\mount\ was filled with a fresh install of windows folders)
    • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:\mount /LimitAccess

and I got source files could not be found. 0x800f081f

Please help me out, my windows 8 installation is dying and I dont have the time to reinstall everything! If I leave my computer for a few hours, and come back, it freezes at the screen saying welcome! So annoying!
