[Change Request] Please change SPACE button behavior in Metro RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • it's simple to repro.

In your Metro, try to press SPACE for two times. Yes, you remove a ICON.

If you press SPACE for several times, you will get a blank Start Screen.

  • Woah that's bad. Just keep pressing space and you would clear your start menu.

  • I think you should rename your post to "Pressing space over and over removes icons". Your post is very important and I feel the title isn't getting teh point across! I think this post needs to be seen.

  • Over the decades of my cumputing experience, I've probably heard the key-buffer full tone ringing out at least 100 times.  Yep, somebody left a book or whatever who's edge was pressing a key.  Being the biggest key, Space is a common one of course.

Trouble is, key-buffer full only starts ringing after keys can no longer be processed.  In this case, I presume that's not until each and every icon has been flushed.

While Metro isn't for me, this is of game changing importance, so I too recommend you not only try to rename the thread subject, but cross-post it in ALL of the Win8ITPro forums, and it should be made sticky by the moderators, and fix put in place very much sooner rather than later.

    Wow.

    Good catch.
