Rate Limit RRS feed

  • Question

  • My doubt it´s very easy, but I cann´t find any document

When I use Rate Limit (Administration / Distribution Point / MyDPServer / Properties / Rate Limit), applied settings there it's get of DP side or Site Server side?

On the Site Server we have internet with 50mb (Our headquarter), but I have problem in the branch office with only 4 mb Internet, where I have the control my Internet

    Anyone have this information?

    Thanks

  • Both. The rate limit is for all traffic between that DP and the Site Server. Time enforcement is based on the system sending the traffic. The vast majority of traffic sent to a DP is content and that's always site server to DP.

If your DPs connection is 4MB, then the 50MB connection on the site server is irrelevant.

  • You could try to use the BITS to limit the traffic.

*If* Pull DPs are used. This setting does not affect "standard" DPs.
