Sync jobs failing saying unable to access file RRS feed

  • Hello All,

    I have a file level backup failing due to the below error:

    Synchronization jobs for E:\ on *Server* have failed. (ID: 3115)
    The Operation failed since DPM was unable to access the file/folder \\?\Volume{e4f98529-1740-4f91-a94a-8be15cb1e70a}\Path to file on  *Server*. This could be due to the file/folder being corrupt or the file system on the volume being corrupt. (ID: 2036)

    I have checked the protected server and the file is not present, I have tried to get to the file on the DPM server to remove it but am unable to access the backup.

    I am running DPM2016 on a Windows 2016 server.

    Is there anyway to access the DPM backup and remove this file from it?  Or do I need to do something else?

  • Hello Sean,

    Unfortunately there's no way of accessing the backup and simply remove files.

    You could try removing the file server from the protection group (with the retain data option), and then try re-adding the file server to the protection group, see if it helps.
