Dell OS Driver Pack vs CAB files RRS feed

  • Question

  • These things are a real pain in the @$$! Tough to extract, and then when you find the drivers (, you end up with ALL drivers imported into your MDT structure - x86, x64, w2008_64, w2008r2_64, w2012_64, w2012r2_64...hell, there was even a w2008_64-w2011sbs_64 folder in there! Why didn't DELL make it easier to import drivers into PowerEdge infrastructure, like they do with there desktops via a .CAB file divided into x86 and x64 folders. What are your methods of importing drivers for Dell PowerEdge server infrastructure?

  • I found in Dell's forums, someone from Dell said people have been using Repository Manager to build driver packs for servers. I've never used though, so that's about all I can point you to. But it would be nice if they made similar cabs, they probably don't get enough requests to justify the work.
