DHCP split scope not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Running Windows 2012DCs with DHCP on the DCs. Domain is windows 2003 with 2012DCs. Forest functional level 2003.

I have a split scope across DC1 (10.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.10 and DC2 that does not work on DC2. If I remove the scope completely from DC1 and host it on DC2 (10.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.10) no addresses are handed out. I have lowered the lease time to an hour and waited over an hour. I have ipconfig /renew on a workstation to get an ip from DC2 without success.

DC1 (10.0.1.1 - 10.0.1.10 ) also has another split scope which works on DC2. The scope is (10.0.1.1 - 10.0.1.20). DC2 (10.0.1.11 -10.0.1.20) gives out ip addressed from this range.

I have tried recreating the (10.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.10) scope on both DC1 and DC2 but the scope does not work on DC2. I have restarted DHCP services on both DCs. No change.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue welcomed. I need to migrate of DC1 so I need all the scopes working on DC2.

    Regards,

    steve
