"Application Failed to Initialize" error under Windows 2000 RRS feed

    We're running into an error which is occurring only on our Windows 2000 computers. We have been able to duplicate this behavior on multiple Windows 2000 computers. It does not occur under Windows XP or Windows Vista.

    When a user who does not belong to the local Administrators group logs in, shortly after logging in the user is presented with a Forefront Client Security error which says "Application failed to initialize". The Forefront Client Security icon does not appear in the system tray.

    However, when examining Task Manager, it appears that Forefront is still working in the background (MSMPEng.exe, etc).

    Are local Administrator rights required for Forefront's user interface? If so, will Forefront continue to work properly in the background (without a user interface) if the user does not have these rights?

    Is there a workaround other than adding the user to the local Administrators group?
