Project sites: Can they be incorporated into PWA? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Why does a project site have to be separate from Project Server? is there a way to add the document library and logs into project server through the SharePoint Foundation? The goal is for users  to only have to work within one interface instead of having to retrieve docs from the project site.

  • HI EPM Admin,

The idea of having separate project site for each project is to provide work space to that particular project's team members to keep all the relevant artifacts together at one place. Project site grant permissions to that project's team members automatically, and this reduce additional admin overhead to manage permissions.

However if you want to keep project documents on PWA, you may need to create document library for each project within PWA and also maintain permission of that library to be accessible by only relevant resources. and the list of admin activities goes on and on in this approach.

    Hope this helps.
