need the link to download the latest direct x software for windows vista home basic 32bit service pack 1. RRS feed

  • it doesnt work ...... the directx window opens and it shows "initializing" and then in a small window it appears the following

    "an internal system error occurred.please refer to dxerror.log and directx.log in the windows folder to determine the problem"

    There is a bug in the Microsoft DirectX Web Installer (Microsoft is investigating).

     

    Try the latest release (11/20/2008) of DirectX Web Installer.

     

    If still no joy…

    Try the DirectX Redistributable Download.

  • Hi,

     

    When does the issue occurs? Does it occur when you try to launch certain games?

     

    After installing the program that TheBits provided, DirectX 9.0 should be installed. If the issue occurs when you launch a game, the game may be not compatible with Windows Vista, or your video card driver does not support DirectX 9.0.

     

    You may collect the DirectX diagnostic log and we will check the situation. Please launch dxdiag in Start Search box, Select "Save All Information and save the log. Please open the saved log and paste the contents in your post.
