Problem of copying files in command prompt. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to run a batch file to copy the Outlook.pst file to One Drive folder when the system starts, so that it is backed up all the time.  For ages I haven't use DOS command.

I tried in the command prompt the following when the file of the same name was not already at the destination folder.

    C:\Users\%username%>copy "C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Outlook Files\Outlook.pst" C:\Users\%username%\OneDrive\Outlook

Sometimes it copied straight away and exited

Sometimes it copied but hung there and I couldn't see any prompt waiting for response.  When I hit Ctrl-C, it exited and the file already copied would be deleted.

I have also tried the following command but didn't make any difference.

    C:\Users\%username%>copy "C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Outlook Files\Outlook.pst" C:\Users\%username%\OneDrive\Outlook /Y
