Upgrade from DPM 2010 to DPM 2012 R2 RRS feed

All replies

  • I'm pretty sure you must upgrade one at a time, all major releases.... from 2010 -> 2012 -> 2012 SP1 -> 2012 R2.

    After upgrading to the RTM build of each major release, you would then install the latest hotfix rollup available for that release.  You can find the latest hotfix rollups for each release here:

    IN DPM console, I get "An unexpected error occured while the job was running ID 104 Details £ Unkown error (0x80041010)(0x80041010

    If a protected computer is running Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista, you should download and install the following hotfix

  • HI, the hyper-v host is 2012 R2, the others are either 2K8 or 2K8 R2

  • You need to apply hot-fix for WS 2k8

  • TrinadhK,

    I went through all my VMs, I have no win 2K8, they are all win2K8 R2 (they were win2K8 2 years ago which I migrated to win2K8 R2), and as I said, the hyper-V host is a win2K12 R2.

    In the url for the KB it is indicated , it is applicable only to

    • Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2)
    • Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1)
    • Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2)
    • Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
    • Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2)

  • Can you check as below:

    Get on the DPM server, unjoin domain, delete computer object from AD, rejoin domain on DPM server, add new DPM server object to "Distributed COM Users" AD group.

    Follow the directions to install the agents manually: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb870935.aspx

    Do not skip the step about running SetDPMServer.exe!
