SBS 2003 - WSS 3.0 problem - companyweb RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I hope this is the right place to post this since I got booted from the Sharepoint Forum!

I'm running SBS 2003 and recently got Sharepoint 3.0 running internally. I can access it from the console config utility as well as internal workstations. I finally (after a lot of reading) got it working externally too by creating the A record with the FQDN. I'm using the NT Authentication for access... is that secure enough or should I do something else?

My problem is this... I used the console config tool to edit the main companyweb page on the server. I added some folders and a few items to the calendar. When I logged into a workstation, none of the changes that I made as admin are visible... I still get the basic, default companyweb on the workstation.

    What did I do wrong?

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your post.

It should be posted in SBS forum which you have done.

Try to answer your questions, hope the answers will help you.

is that secure enough or should I do something else?

Follow KB838304 to publish http://Companyweb to the Internet by ISA Server.

I still get the basic, default companyweb on the workstation.

Follow KB838429 workaround to change the Default.htm code from http://companyweb to https://FQDN_of_SBS_Server:444 (backup the Default.htm first)
