Replication issue with The destination server is currently rejecting replication requests.

    Question

  • I am facing issue with one of 2003 DC in our environment

error: The destination server is currently rejecting replication requests.

I have tried below Steps to troubleshoot the issue

    1.C:\>repadmin /options

repadmin running command /options against server localhost
    Current DC Options: DISABLE_INBOUND_REPL DISABLE_OUTBOUND_REPL

    repadmin /options DCNAME -DISABLE_OUTBOUND_REPL

    repadmin /options DCName -DISABLE_INBOUND_REPL

after 15 min its going back

    2. checked the USN that each Domain Controller believes is correct for itself and its replication partners.

it got lot of differences between partners

    C:\Program Files\Support Tools>repadmin /showutdvec XXXXXXX dc=XXX,dc=XXXX,dc=XX
    Caching GUIDs.
    ..
    Default-First-Site-Name\XXXXXXX (retired) @ USN   2143536 @ Time 2014-02-15

  • Hi

So these DC's configured on different times and this output is not accurate information,so you should verify is this an usn rollback or not?

    Check the articles to perform;

How to detect and recover from a USN rollback

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/875495

    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/reference_point/2012/12/10/usn-rollback-virtualized-dcs-and-improvements-on-windows-server-2012/

Then please could you share "dcdiag" ,"repadmin /replsum" results.

  • Hi,
Have you tried to reset options by the following commands?
    repadmin /options <DC NAME> +DISABLE_OUTBOUND_REPL
    repadmin /options <DC NAME> -DISABLE_OUTBOUND_REPL
    repadmin /options <DC NAME> +DISABLE_INBOUND_REPL
    repadmin /options <DC NAME> -DISABLE_INBOUND_REPL
please note to replace <DC NAME> with your problematic DC name.
    Best regards,
    Wendy
