"Assigned To" e-mail notifications working 'intermittently' issue? RRS feed

  • Question

  • "Assigned To" e-mail notifications working 'intermittently' issue?

Does anyone have a status of this issue with Service Manager?   We use Service Manager with the Cireson front end and are seeing 'Assigned To' notifications intermittently failing.  Maybe like 1 in 100 in our best guess right now.

Our understanding is that this is a known issue with the Service Manager software, can someone point me in the right direction as to where this issue is being tracked with Microsoft?

  • Hi,

which version of System Center Service Manager are you running? Which Update Rollup is installed if the version is before 2019?

I'm currently are not aware of an issue here.

Is anything relevant in the logs of SCSM Management Server (Event Viewer/Application and Service logs/OperationsManager)?

    Regards,

    Stefan

  • We are running Service Manager 2016, version 1801.

We haven't found anything relevant in Event Viewer and have talked with Microsoft Premier Support a few times with no resolution thus far.

There is a 'batch size' configuration that we have been adjusting with some success but haven't verified that it has resolved this issue 100% of the time.

  • Hi Shodaman,

Are the failing "Assigned To" notifications part of the "Cireson Notify Analyst" app, or are these built with out-of-box subscriptions/templates?

    Thanks,

    Nick

  • I have seen this very often. In most cases its a performance Problem of the Server.
    Very important:
Do not install SQL Server and Workflow Server on the Same Server.
When SQL Server gets a high load, the Workflow Server will not get enough ressources. You will also see stuck Request

Take care of your Rules Behind Values in SQL.

The Reasons and optimization Tasks are various.
    - Disable DCM Rule
    - Optimize Workitem Groups (Queues)
    - Some SQL Performance Optimization
    - Using Own Type Projection instead of Built in Combined Classes for Views, Offerings, Queues, ...
