Customization and Javascript RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am customizing the page to include some special authentication functionality. I need to make a cross-domain ajax call to a special web service that I have set up. I am using jsonp. For some reason, it is not working.

The ajax call resides on this page:

    https://localhost/adfs/ls/wia

When I go to a local test site I have setup, the ajax call works fine: https://localhost/test

But when I go to https://localhost/adfs/ls/wia, the ajax call fails.

Why can it work on my local website, but not on the ADFS. I looked at the source code for the two webpages and they are identical.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you !

  • We do not recommend to customize the page with Ajax nor jQuery. It will be hard to find community support since this is not expected.

What are you trying to achieve with those calls maybe we can find another way?

  • We are implementing mobile capabilities in authentication, whereby the AD FS page will make ajax calls to the web service repeatedly until the authentication of the user is confirmed by phone, at which point the web service will return an approval message signifying the login process to continue.

  • If you are looking at MFA, rather use the ADFS MFA server or go direct to Azure MFA.

If you want to customise, this is a better way to go : How to create a Custom Authentication Provider for Active Directory Federation Services on Windows Server 2012 R2 – Part 1.
