Unable to use Start Menu search due to policy - Prevent Access to Drives on My Computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Are desktop environment is considerably locked down and we prevent standard users being able to see the C drive through Hide Drives policy and Prevent Access to Drives.

Due to this we lose the ability to use the Start Menu search for programs. Is there a way to allow this search function to still see the Programs?

    Many Thanks

  • Hi lee,

If your Windows programs and all other programs are on the C: drive, I am afraid that the programs cannot be found for limited user accounts if you remove their access to the C: drive.
