Direct Access is connecting when connected to VPN RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi team,

While connecting to VPN in our environment, Microsoft Direct Access is getting established in user machine..

May I know why Windows Behaves like this? Is there any change needed from registry?

  • Hiya,

Whether or not it will try to connect depends entirely on the availability of the NLS server. (DNS and traffic)

Network location server. DirectAccess clients attempt to reach the network location server to determine if they are on the internal network.

I'm guessing your VPN is not allowing trafik to the NLS server or the DNS is not correctly updated for the DNS server used when on the VPN connection.

  • Hi Jesper,

    Thank you for responding!

After some research we found that, even if VPN is connected, a route to domain is not getting created. Each & every time when VPN is connected, it is required to create a manual route to domain.
