Windows 7 - To disabled Startup Repair on computers with BitLocker intalled RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are looking at disabling the Startup Repair on all Windows 7 computers across the organization.

Some of these computers, has BitLocker installed on them.

    Few Questions:

    1. Will disabling Startup Repair bring any impact to computers with BitLocker installed?

    2. Does Startup Repair cause computer to disjoin the domain?

    3. Is there a way to disable Startup Repair using SCCM? or is it better to do it via GPO?

    Thank you

    Best Regards,

  • 1 - no.

    2- no.

    3- 2 commands:

    bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No
    bcdedit /set {default} bootstatuspolicy ignoreallfailures

Those can be part of your startup script or managed scheduled task. I would not need SCCM.
