quad core system with vista ultimate 64 now shows only two cores in task manager RRS feed

  • Question

GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R mother board. Just installed Vista 64, Was showing 4 cores and has changed to showing two?

I have been re-instaling software Office-2007, PowerDVD-ultra, Visual Studio 2005, as well as all the ultimate upgrades,

Somewhere the number of cores displayed in task manager changed.

I have found mutiple  posibilities from my search,

bios has changed so disabled  --- What setting would move from 4 to 2?

over heating shutdown, --- it's not overheating now or that I've seen.

/numproc=? as done  in vista %SystemRoot%\System32\Bcdedit.exe or (%SystemRoot%\System32\Msconfig.exe) to access, --- I will check this one when I get home tonight.

Install or upgrade has reset so 2 shown?.
