    I opened Word 2010 today (using Windows 7) and suddenly, with no warning or error messages, all my keyboard shortcuts and macros have disappeared. All of the macros that I had created were linked to keyboard shortcuts. In the macro dialogue box I have looked under "normal.dotm" and "all active templates and documents" -- no macros listed.  In "customize the ribbon / keyboard shortcuts," I had made many changes to reassign shortcut keys and they have now all been lost. Yesterday when I worked on my laptop everything was fine. Other Word preferences (like my ribbon menu setup) are still in place.

    By default, both macros and keyboard shortcuts are stored in the Normal template. What you describe suggests that something has happened to Normal.dotm. Look at the time stamp for the current version of the file, and see if there are any files with similar names (such as NormalOld.dotm) in your user templates folder.
