64-bit XP Pro Printer issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've already gone to HP's site to get the 64bit version of the driver - that didn't work

Fortunately the user can print to this printer as a network shared resource

But when I tried to assign printer by IP address--because user wants to configure double-sided printing--i get the message "local downlevel document" failed to print. And I would have to cancel it from the print que.

I've tried to change the printer configuration to "print directly to printer" but seem to dislike that option because it freezes after selecting that option and try to print.

I've also tried to restart the computer once after installing HP printer drives and after making modifications to printer preferences.

    Anyone encountered this issue before?
