  Hi Michael,

  Please check the link below, and scroll down to “Adding Interactivity Using a Slicer”:

  And post the data refresh error for further troubleshooting. Here is the possible scenario for failed data refresh:

  Well I think the issue was that I didn't have the boxes checked for sorting and filtering in the Excel Services Web Part :/ The link for troubleshooting data refreshes was useful though. Thanks.
