Skype for Business - SQL Capacity planning

Question
-
Hi all,
My DBA is asking for specifics for the SfB deployment in terms of databases sizes and capacity planning. We have around 1800 employees. I cannot find much info with regard to SQL requirements, instances, IOPS and capacity planning?
Any info on this would be appreciated.

Hi BD2013,
The only information you will find is from the technet.

Hi BD2013,
Based on your description, you have 1800 employees for SFB enterprise edition, is that right?
Per my knowledge, recommended hardware for Front End Servers, Back End Servers, Standard Edition servers, and Persistent Chat Servers:
Moreover, you could use Skype for Business Server 2015 Capacity Planning Calculator, it will help you determine server requirements based on the number of users and the communication tools your organization uses, the following document is for your reference

Hi Alice,
Im familiar with this document, but there seems to be a lack of information in terms of specific SQL information. Even the capacity planner just tells you how many SQL servers you will need. I was looking for something more geared towards database usage so we can determine whether we will need a new SQL server or whether it can installed on our existing. Im also not sure whether it requires 3 instances on 1 server, or whether they are split between Backend database and front end servers.
Thanks

You can use "Archive Sizing" as a base to stipulate your capacity planning for SQL; at least it could give you some ideas.
