  • Question

  • Ok I have forefront installed on 44 servers ( which we have no server security for). I just recently started seeing errors in are Managment server (where MOM isinstalled) APP event viewer saying event id 1015 Microsoft.FFSMC.Services.AlertDeployment - Forefront Server Security is not installed. I followed the answer i recived off this forum back in Decemeber.
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/Forefrontclientgeneral/thread/63d2fdf2-71ce-482d-a5d0-fe2bde7a5b56. My question is why would this error occur now? I could understand if it was only on the exchange servers and sharepoint servers but this error is occuring even on regular servers.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your update.

This issue is very strange. As you said, if we install Forefront Server Security for Exchange servers and SharePoint servers, we may occur the error about “Microsoft.FFSMC.Services.AlertDeployment. Since this issue does not affect using Forefront Client Security, I think you can use FCS normally. And I will follow up this issue. if anything update or other error occur, please let me know.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your post.

Before going any further, I’d like to confirm the following:

    1.      Do you have receive any other error message in event viewer?

    2.      Does this issue affect using Forefront? Or is there any abnormal things on your environment?

    3.      How do you deploy the Forefront Client Security? Do you deploy Forefront Server Security?

  • 1. no
    2. no i'm still able to scan and monitor the servers tthat this error refers to.
    3. I deploy forefront client security using MOM. We havent deployed forefront server security because I thought it only is meant for exchange and sharepoint. we don't want this on neither as stated in thread I linked above.
