IE9 patch KB2870699 braks a function on a client machine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

After installing IE9 patch KB2870699 on Windows 7 (version??) on a client machine our application's zoom function is broken. Machines that did not have the patch installed had no issue.

The application makes use of  silverlight, java and java script components, besides it's own native API.

Not all clients with eg Windows 7 are impacted. A Windows 7 professional SP1 and a Windows 32 bits installation were not affected.

Does this patch make any changes on silverlight or java components?

  • Hi Marc,

For this issue, you may use one of the following workarounds to resolve this issue::

    1. Uninstall KB2870699 IE Update (this would’ve been installed sometime last week) – From Control Panel -> Installed Updates

    2. Hide this update in Windows Update.

Hide Windows 7 Updates that you do not Ever Want to Install

I also would like to suggest you update the application so that it can be compatible with this update.

    Hope it helps.
