Group membership limitation? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are using App-V Client 4.6.1.30101 and the App-V Management Server version 4.5.3.19480. We are using App-V a couple of months now without any problems.

    Yesterday we’ve migrated a user to App-V. This user doesn’t receive ant application from the server. When we do a manual application refresh we get the error below.

    When I was investigating this problem I noticed this user was member of al lot of group (600+). When I make this user member of just 564 groups (not counting nested groups) everything works fine! When I add one more group membership to this user I’m unable to refresh the applications.

    Is this a known limitation or does somebody has a workaround?

    Regards, Marcel

  • Match up the token configuration with this registry key (you need to create it.)

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SoftGrid\4.5\Server

    "MAX_RTSP_HEADER_BYTES"=dword:0000ffff

    If you are still experiencing issues. tweak these registry keys:

    Server:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\SoftGrid\4.5\Server\UNAUTHENTICATED_TIMEOUT_SEC - try 60.

    Client:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SoftGrid\4.5\Client\Network\ReadTimeout - try 60
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SoftGrid\4.5\Client\Network\RTSPKeepAliveTimeout - try 60
