  • hai,

    i have 3 partition in my laptop. C (155 GB), D (642 GB), E (119 GB), how can i merge that C & E?

    with out losing data in D?

  • Windows Partition Manager (Disk Management) will not allow you to merge two partitions, if you have a third sitting in between them.

    In other words, you'll be able to merge C:\ and D:\, OR D:\ and E:\.  You won't be able to merge C:\ and E:\

    The only workaround using Disk Management, would be to back up all your data to an external drive (ALWAYS recommended before changing partitions), merge all three partitions (C, D AND E), and then create a new D:\.  Then restore data from backup.

    Otherwise, invest in a 3rd party partition solution.
