DHCP Settings for the Lync devices RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi All,

I thought I have added the options for the Lync devices and when I'm running:

    c:\DHCPUtil.exe -emulateclient

    .

    .

    .

    Result: Success
    DHCP Server : 10.10.2.25
    SIP Server FQDN : pool01.company.com
Certificate Provisioning Service URL : https://pool01.company.com:443/CertProv/CertProvisioningService.svc

But if I run "Test-CsPhoneBootstrap" at the end of results I have:

    .

    .

            Disconnecting
Connecting to web service : /CertProv/CertProvisioningService.svc://443:MS-UC-Clienthttp
            Using anonymous authentication

    TargetUri  : /CertProv/CertProvisioningService.svc://443:MS-UC-Clienthttps
    TargetFqdn : pool01.company.com
    Result     : Failure
    Latency    : 00:00:01.1480772
Error      : Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined.

    Diagnosis  :

Any ideas why the DHCP options are used in to build incorrect URL, but also why DHCPUtil does not have any problems?

  • If seen this before and needeed to completely delete all the optoins and redo them.  After time the URL somehow 'lost' some of it's data and was incomplete.

If you haven't already run across it I highly recommened using this article to configure your DHCP settings for Lync Phone Edition:

  • Have you tried turning on dhcp on the registrar? Im not sure if you've deployed any devices yet but if you are unable to get the options working it may be worth trying.
