I'm using a dell studio 15 laptop with i2 processor and win 7 OS.. One day (a week before) i found that most of my programs installed in my computer are not being dislayed in Control Panel( uninstall a program )..But these programs are working properly... Only 10 of the programs are shown there.. i did a system restore and still no use.. I did a registry cleaner with CCleaner before that problem( don't know that's the cause ).. I'm also not able to uninstall them using CCleaner and the uninstall.exe in C:\Program Files is also missing for some programs... I'm a beginner in computer.. Please help me...

Simply never use such nonsense tools. Read what Mark Russinovich wrote about those useless tools:
"I haven't and never will implement a Registry cleaner since it's of little practical use on anything other than Win2K terminal servers and developing one that's both safe and effective requires a huge amount of application-specific knowledge."

i know its an old thread, but I am having the same problem with my Windows 7 PC. I used a registry cleaner of GlaryUtilities (and I regret I used it!). I didn't do any backup and now there are lots of programs misssing in the programs and features list. I see only 4 programs which I installed lately but the remaing 25-30 programs are missing. There's no system restore point available. I am pretty sure its the registry problem. MY registry cleaner has deleted the unistallers of many programs. Is there a solution to this?? Please help cause I need to clear much of the mess from my PC.Friday, June 13, 2014 12:38 PM
