[Windows XP] Wireless card issue on windows RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I had to format my fiancee´s Dell Inspiron 1525 and put windows xp in it. All drivers worked fine except for the "Network Controller".

Whenever there is no drive installed/enabled to it, the Wifi LED (on bottom-left corner of PC) is turned ON. Thing is when i install/enable any driver (including the correct one) on it, the LED goes off and I cannot find any wireless networks. The Wireless Zero Configuration is on.

Another scenario: when i reboot the computer, as soon as computer powers on, the LED turns on as well, then when windows starts, with the driver assigned to the "Network Controller", the LED goes off

    Help please?

  • Check the wireless card status in the Device Manager console to see if the wireless NIC icon is marked with an icon that indicates a problem: if this is the case, right click on the NIC icon and choose "Properties" to get more informations about the device status.
