taskhostex (3068) RRS feed

  • Question

  • recently found this warning in task manager since my system has been running slow:

taskhostex (3068) The database cache size maintenance task has taken 60 seconds without completing. This may result in severe performance degradation. Current cache size is 51 buffers above the configured cache limit (254 percent of target). Cache size maintenance evicted 0 buffers, made 131868 flush attempts, and successfully flushed 0 buffers. It has run 23979 times since maintenance was triggered.

I read in another post here that the event can be traced from taskmanager but cannot se how. any ideas appreciated. TIA

  • Hi,

Based on my research, I suggest you repair windows update to check the result.

Use our Windows Update Automated Troubleshooter:

Meanwhile, please use Disk Cleanup to clean your disk.

  • Kevin, I did as you suggested. I ran the tool, cleaned the hard drive and ran it once more. the first pass found and fixed errors and the second only found: "problems found installing updates." I guess I'll watch it for awhile than unless you think it's resolved. Thank you
