Sleep & Hibernate are grayed out & cannot use either on Win7 (64bit) Acer laptop. RRS feed

  • I tried the CMD: 'powercfg -h on' & it says "Hibernation failed with the following error: The request is not supported. The following items are preventing hibernation on this system. There are one or more legacy drivers installed: VgaSave. An internal system component has disabled hibernation.

    According to your description, often with Acer's the newest BIOS maybe fix that problem. Before you upgrade the BIOS be sure to make a backup and have a restore point just in case.

    If the BIOS upgrade does not repair the problem video drivers can also prevent sleep/hibernate.
