ConfigMgr Migration plan RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have in project to get rid of our SCCM 2012 R2 infrastructure to go with a ConfigMgr CB version.
To do that, we've built a new infrastructure with a new Site Code.

We've no apps/packages/OSD to migrate. All will be reviewed and created from scratch in the new server.
I would like to know if the following migration plan is correct, do I forget some steps ?

In the new SCCM site :
1/ Create boundaries and boundary groups
    2/ Enable discovery methods
    3/ Configure DP sharing
    4/ Reassign and update Clients
5/ Stop gathering data from source hierarchy
6/ Get rid of source hierarchy

Is it possible to configure DP sharing to reassign them to the new site code without keeping old content ?
Have we to migrate Clients to new site before doing the reassignment and the update ? Which is the best method to do this ?

    Thanks in advance
