Finish sequencing if Sequencer crashes? RRS feed

  • Question

  • 4.6SP1 with hotfix

    Hello,

While sequencing an certain application, twice now it has crashed when choosing "continue to customize", one of the later steps.  All of the files are there and the VFS folder is populated, and the SoftGridUserSettings folder is created but not populated..  Is it possible to continue a sequence from this point somehow or do it manually instead of having to start the sequence over?  I guess if not, the next step is figuring out why it crashes with this app every time.

    Error, for reference, is:

Faulting application SFTSequencer.exe, version 4.6.1.30091, faulting module SFTSequencer.exe, version 4.6.1.30091, fault address 0x0013ca54.

It is not possible to continue from there, you have to re-start from the scratch.

What if you don't use "continue customizing" option but rather save the package immediately after monitoring phase and then re-open the package with Sequencer to customize it?

  • Hello,

    I would say no.

Check the sequencer log-files and see if the application has any drivers or such

  • Hello,

It seems that the above log-file is from post-crash start-up. More relevant would be to start a new sequencer and recreate the issue, while reviewing the log-files before and after the crash (without starting it after the crash).

There has been previous instances where drives, licensing-engines and long path/filenames have caused issues - so I would investigate the application aswell

  • What other software and pre-requisites are installed on your sequencing machine? Is the machine on the domain or in a workgroup
