Project Manager Has to Approve Their Own Updates? RRS feed

  • The Project Owner and the Status Manager are the same person.  When they open the project through MS Project Professional, and publish new updates, the system is requiring them to approve their own update.  Is there something wrong in our permissions?  I cannot find any info on how to stop this.

  • I think this is normal. Even if he himself is the status manager for the tasks against which he is entering updates, one would always like them to be reviewed before they are incorporated in the plan.

    Exceptionally if someone doesn't want to approve self updates then simply an Auto Approval rule can be set from Approval Center.

    Time sheets will be automatically approved if one is Time sheet Manager for himself but the status updates will come for approval.
