How Microsoft Patch Bulletins Replacement works? RRS feed

  • Question

  • With every release of Microsoft patches, some old patches are replaced.

I want to understand, if first patch replaces second patch and second patch replaces third patch, does that mean first patch will replace third patch as well.

    For example:

    MS11-023 has replaced MS10-087

    MS10-087 has replaced MS10-003

So does that mean MS11-023 has replaced MS10-003 as well?

Will this condition apply to all the patches released by Microsoft?

  • If this month's Patch C replaces patch B from last month, which had replaced patch A from two months ago - then yes.  Even if you never applied patch B, patch C will still leave you with the same result.
