Windows Server 2008 R2 - Printers

  • Situation - Own a salon.  Use Millennium Spa software resident on a GoDaddy hosted server running Server 08 R2.  Epson T88-IV receipt printer installed locally.  Remote in using Remote Desktop Connection.  The Epson receipt printer will suddenly disappear when attempting to print a receipt.  It tries to redirect to another printer.  Have to go to the preferences within Millennium and select the Epson printer for our receipt printer and then it will allow receipt printing once again locally.

This must have to do with how the printer is mapped and the settings in Group Policy, so I've been told.  Question - what do I need to do within the server settings to make sure the Epson printer remains as the only printer for receipts and that it doesn't disappear or try to redirect to a different printer?  I'm sure there must be a simple process.  Just not familiar with the steps necessary to achieve this.  Thank you in advance for any assistance anyone can offer.

  • Hi,

Did you set Epson printer as the default one? I’m afraid your requirement cannot be achieved. The clients select the printer and sent the print job. If the printer doesn’t work properly, I suggest installing the proper driver on the server side to check the result.

If the Epson printer still doesn’t work properly, please check if any related log is in the Event Viewer on the server.
