DPM 2012 Notifications Using Office 365 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Our organization uses Office 365 for Exchange.  I want to configure our DPM 2012 server to send notifications using Office 365 as the SMTP server.  How can I do this?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

  • using

    smtp.office365.com

    587 explicit

    TLS v1-1.2

causes DPM2012R2 to crash and it has to be restarted.

    if I use outlook.office365.com

as soon as I put in a username and password, for the authenticated server,, it crashes DPM, again.

flaky is an understatement. Why cant Microsoft have software packages that work together?

  • I'm having the above issue too - DPM console crashes when entering authenticated SMTP information and trying to send a test email.

  • I'm also having this issue!

We're in the process of migrating to Office 365, I've used a mailbox for DPM communication previously, so migrated this to Office 365, however even with this in place, the console still crashes when sending a test e-mail.

Does anyone have any idea how this can be solved?

  • I had the same issues, in the end we solved it by installing a hmail server locally and used that for the DPM to send out with. Quite bad that MS cant fix this!
