Raise domain and forest functional level to Windows 2012 R2 with Exchange 2007 installed

    Question

  • Dears,

We used to have Windows 2003 DCs and Exchange 2007 CAS\HUB\MBX server in a customer domain, we installed new Windows 2012 R2 DCs as well as Exchange 2013 and demoted old Windows 2003 DCs. the Exchange 2007 server will still in the organization for a while...my question if we can raise the domain and forest functional level to Windows 2012 R2 while we still have Exchange 2007; is it applicable? Note that Exchange 2007 is just being used as the source server of a dedicated send connector to route mail to specific domain

note that Exchange 2007 is sp3 with UR17
