Outlook cannot handle forward slash in OU name RRS feed

  • I have recently been investigating an issue with internal autodiscover where Outlook didn't suggest name and email address. Through testing I was able to conclude that the reason for this behaviour was a forward slash in the name of one of the OU's the users were located under. The OU was named "companyname A/S". When I renamed the OU (removed the /), Outlook was able to suggest the name and email of the user, but when I put the / back in, no suggestions.

    Clearly this must be a bug in Outlook (both 2007/2010)? Apparently Outlook doesn't escape the / correctly in the ldap search.
