Migrate from Windows Server Standard 2003 (not SBS) to SBS 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is this possible at all? I've seen that SBS 2011 requires an earlier SBS server to migrate or it will fail.

  • The SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 migration documentation applies, the main difference is that you don’t have to remove the source and that you have to follow the migration instructions as the SBS migration wizard will not launch.

  • or in other words, no, it is not necessary for you to start from an earlier version of SBS. The migration document however does assume such.
